Today the Bridal Extravaganza was featured on KPRC Channel 2 news with Chip Brewster. Many vendors from the Bridal Extravaganza Show were with us. We talked wedding cakes with Tammy Allen, décor and event planning with Johanna Terry Events, and music with Kat Alvarado. Todd Ramos gave us a sneak peek of the bridal gowns that will be featured in our fashion shows, including dresses from Impression Bridal and Winnie Couture. After talking with the vendors and trying Tammy Allen’s Texas Melon cupcakes, we had tons of fun in the GingerSnap Photo Camper – a new take on photo booths!

The restaurant is overlooking the gorgeous marina and especially at sunset, it is the place to be! It has indoor/outdoor options to dine and personally outdoor is the best option. They have an incredibly long wine menu to choose from and the appetizers and bread are so delectable make sure to save room for their delicious deserts. Portofino is part of Longboat Key Club and specializes in seafood; however for someone who doesn’t like seafood, they have amazing brick-oven pizzas. Being from Texas, I wasn’t too exposed to seafood and wasn’t a big fan, but with the way they cook it, I might have to start exploring more options. Of course, I got the Soppressata brick oven pizza, a salami and pepperoni pizza, because who can go wrong ordering pizza! It was a flatbread pizza and I even stuffed myself full and took the rest home, it was that good!! After we ate, the waiter saw me eyeing the desert menu, which I knew was a bad idea! I was in a new place and I felt like I had to try something new. I absolutely love all things chocolate and ordered the Italian Lovers Cake, which was layered chocolate cake, chocolate ganache, with fresh raspberries. I don’t even know how to describe the cake because it was probably the best I have ever tasted especially when they gave me strawberry gelato on the side! Strawberries and chocolate is an absolute amazing combination and that sold me right there! Portofino was one of the best restaurants I have been to and will definitely be coming back for more!!
